Miva makes building dynamic, data driven web pages as easy as HTML. You can quickly develop interactive web pages that are 100% browser independent. Miva runs on the web server, interprets the Miva tags and outputs pure HTML to the browser. You can also use Miva to output Javascript and other browser languages, and use the built-in database to easily manipulate and publish data.

We are running Miva Empresa v3.9408 for Miva files with the extension *.mv
and Miva Empresa with Virtual Machine v4.02 for compiled files with the extension *.mvc
The following is what you will need to know for use on your domain.

The miva engine being called is "miva" or "mivavm", which is in your cgi-bin. The active pages (pages with .mv or .mvc) need to be placed somewhere in your www directory. A sample URL call for this would be as follows:

http://yourdomain.com/yourpage.mv

Miva has a variety of pre configured products that require path information
we have preconfigured miva to automatically look into the www directory for data files, so the following would be used if the data files are in the main directory

EXAMPLE.
<export file="file.dat">

To call miva through the secure server use the following:
https://machinename.safe-order.net/cgi-bin/smiva?yourdomain/yourpage.mv

or with utilizing the Virtual Machine
https://machinename.safe-order.net/cgi-bin/smivavm?yourdomain/yourpage.mvc

machinename must be replaced with the name of the physical system you are on, i.e. pan, artemis, osirus, vulcan etc . . .

Database
A high-performance, architecture-neutral, multi-user database system is integrated into Miva Empresa. Database and index files can be copied and used across platforms without any conversion or time consuming data unload/load procedures. This makes Miva Empresa an ideal system for hosting services and sites that have different architectures for development, maintenance, and publishing. The integrated database system uses an xBase core file system that is wrapped with the high performance Miva Database Indexing System (MDIX).
